Investigating a Program

Life Changes Start Here

One of the first things you can do is create a Data form for use when you investigate programs.

This is a form you can call anything you like, such as “Prospective Program Data Form” or similar, and will have a number of different areas for you to fill in for each program.

Program name, the category of the program, and the date of contact are three things you can start with. What category does the program fall in, areas such as Workplace, Treatment Orientation, Criminal Justice or Corrections, or Prevention. These are effective questions for helping create and establish Drug Treatment Facilities.

You should have an area for the Date of Contact, and pretty extensive information on the Contact person, such as name, organization, address, phone and email, and any associated web site address for the organization.

You can also list the questions you want to ask on first and second interviews. Program Goals, Program description, the reason or impetus for starting or beginning of the program, what agencies and organizations helped start the program, and outcome and implementation data are all examples of questions that you may put down for the First or initial interview. You will likely also have others that you can think of.

For the Second Interview, your data form should have questions such as Sources of Funding for the program, news or media coverage the program has received, any honors or awards that the program has earned, the specific date the program was established, and any stories or anecdotal information they may care to share. These are all examples of questions for the Second Interview. In addition, you can ask other questions about why they first started a Drug Treatment Facility.

There are other things to focus on also in creating your initial data form for investigating programs. One of the first steps is identifying the problem. How widespread is it, and how can it be dealt with effectively? Most cities and towns across America are finding that the answer is to have effective treatment, and drug rehabilitation programs. These programs vary in substance and approach, but they all have one common stated goal: To assist their clients to leave drugs and other addictive substances behind forever, and create an effective drug rehabilitation program. This can be done in a variety of ways. Each method can help create one of the different Drug Treatment Facilities.

These are the objectives and goals for the project phase of your plan. They will help you get to your goal of creation of an effective drug rehabilitation facility. Other issues to keep in mind and decisions involve deciding on the effectiveness of your final product, and the participating groups, agencies and organizations and the level of cooperation that you are able to set up. Planning and constructing a City Profile is part of the process in establishing eventually different Drug Treatment Facilities.

You can follow up and talk about the things that are in the community or city that you live in that are working, or programs that are very promising. This is a good way to build and establish rapport with the target audience, and a good way to begin your approach with your own findings. If there are good Drug Treatment Centers operating in your area- Name Them. It builds on your ideas to acknowledge the programs that are working in your area.

City leaders, Civic leaders, private organizations, agencies and others all want the same thing- to help citizens that struggle with drug addiction to have access to a drug rehabilitation program. Working together it is much more likely that any of the drug rehabilitation program types you construct will be successful, because there will be more committed groups and people to the project. Each type or group will aid in the process of creating effective types of Drug Treatment Facilities.
